Châteaux of the Loire
Long known as Le Jardin de la France, the Loire is a region blessed with fertile land and the country’s longest river, which combine to transform the area into a horticultural haven where life is good.
Two modern regions form the Loire: the Pays de la Loire, astride the lower Loire Valley around Nantes and Angers, and the part so prosaically named Centre, with Orléans as its capital on the river’s middle stretch.
